Top 2 Tuesday

This weeks top 2 over at The Undomestic Momma is your top 2 favorite ornaments. While we love the traditional "First Christmas Together" and "Babies First Christmas" ornaments, these next two are by far my favorite.


This ornament is special to me because it is the one Kelly and I bought for Ella Rae when she was still in my tummy. We had gone to Savannah for some Christmas shopping and diner one night and decided to stop at World Market to look at the ornaments. This one just reminded me of the sweet little girl in my tummy. It was so small and dainty, just how I imagined Ella to be. It is Ella's first ornament!
This ornament is my all time favorite because it was my Grandmothers. It was always a tradition that my family would go over and help my Mommom and Poppop (my mom's parents) decorate their tree. I loved finding spots for the few birdies Mommom had. After my grandparents passed, my mom divided up their ornaments for my sister, me and herself. This was the bird I chose and I love seeing my little piece of Mommom up on our tree every year!!

    That's such a neat idea to buy an ornament during pregnancy! I'm going to be on the lookout for something that catches my eye!

Today, November 17, is Prematurity Awareness Day! This cause is near and dear to my heart because our sweet Ella Rae was born 6 weeks premature. We were definitely on the upper side of the 'premature spectrum' so to speak, as many babies are born waaay earlier. We did, however, spend 14 days in the NICU after Ella's birth. It was a whirlwind to say the least. Did you know that 1 out of 8 babies are born premature? And the amount of premature births has risen 30% since 1981. That means too many babies are coming early and too many parents have to endure the unknown of their child being born prematurely. Today is a day to fight for those babies and families. In honor of Premature Awareness Day, I thought I would share some pictures of Ella Rae's Birth. The very first photo ever taken of Ella Rae. Today I am joining Goodnight Moon's link up party where we share a song. It's no secret that we (Ella Rae and I) are fans of Justin Bieber and I absolutely love this song of his. He is only 17, but he's got a wonderful heart and donates a lot of money and time to many different charities and organizations. We are definitely fans! And a sweet picture of my girl, just for fun!! travels, visits and pics

Things have been pretty crazy round these parts lately. Ella Rae has definitely started acting like the old adage “terrible twos”. She certainly hasn’t been terrible by any means, just different. More active, busier, and she hasn’t been sleeping great. That means when she IS sleeping, I am taking some mommy time. Blogging just hasn’t been my top priority when there is always a sink full of dishes and multiple loads of laundry  to be washed and folded. We are counting down to Baby T’s arrival. My niece or nephew is due this Saturday so we are anxiously awaiting a “My water broke” call or a “I’m being induced on this date” call. Either way, I can’t wait to be an Aunt!!!  Here is Lala at 38 1/2 weeks! Doesn’t she look AMAZING!?! That being said, we are all getting ready to travel to Albuquerque!! Gigi and Grandaddy leave on Thursday and will stay almost 3 weeks. It will be Gigi’s longest time away from Ella Rae AND her longest time away from home ever since being married!! Baby T sure
