Merry Christmas

Ok Y'all
this will be my last post
until after the new year.
This momma needs to get herself busy!
I am almost done with the shopping and making-
but I have not wrapped one present yet!
NOT ONE!
Plus- We will be busy spending the
holidays with our family and friends!

But I wanted to share a few pictures before signing off for 2010.

I took Ella Rae to my mom's preschool
last week for their Christmas show and party.
At the end of the party, Santa came to visit!
I thought this would be the perfect opportunity
to introduce Ella Rae to Santa.
Now she has seen him in books, on the tv
and little figurines around the house,
but never in person-
except for last year but she was only 10 months old.
She always says HoHoHo when we talk about Santa
so I really thought she would love him.

The BEST part about these pictures is that
Ella Rae's Granddaddy is
Santa!!!!

hahahahahahahahahahaha

I find this hilarious. We were so concerned that
Ella would recognize Grandaddy's
voice or eyes or something and
ruin the Santa surprise for everyone.
But I could tell from when he walked in,
that she wasn't so sure about him.
We told him we were going to bring her up
and to not talk.
She lasted about 10 seconds until
she squirmed her way out of his lap.
I said it was a good thing it was
Granddaddy though, because no normal Santa
would hold a screaming 22 month old
on their lap for this picture.
And for that matter-
no mother would let some strange man
hold their screaming 22 month old daughter lol! (i hope)

We all got a kick out of it and
opted out of going to the mall
for the traditional Santa picture this year.
I'm sure next year, Ella Rae and Santa will be buddies!

So I wanted to take this opportunity
to wish everyone a
wonderful holiday season.
I hope your days are similar to ours-
filled with love
and overflowing with blessings!

Today, November 17, is Prematurity Awareness Day! This cause is near and dear to my heart because our sweet Ella Rae was born 6 weeks premature. We were definitely on the upper side of the 'premature spectrum' so to speak, as many babies are born waaay earlier. We did, however, spend 14 days in the NICU after Ella's birth. It was a whirlwind to say the least. Did you know that 1 out of 8 babies are born premature? And the amount of premature births has risen 30% since 1981. That means too many babies are coming early and too many parents have to endure the unknown of their child being born prematurely. Today is a day to fight for those babies and families. In honor of Premature Awareness Day, I thought I would share some pictures of Ella Rae's Birth. The very first photo ever taken of Ella Rae. Kelly took this picture through the door when they were evaluating Ella right after she came out. A few minutes later they allowed Kelly in the room. Of course that left me alone

Today I am joining Goodnight Moon's link up party where we share a song. It's no secret that we (Ella Rae and I) are fans of Justin Bieber and I absolutely love this song of his. He is only 17, but he's got a wonderful heart and donates a lot of money and time to many different charities and organizations. We are definitely fans! And a sweet picture of my girl, just for fun!! travels, visits and pics

Things have been pretty crazy round these parts lately. Ella Rae has definitely started acting like the old adage “terrible twos”. She certainly hasn’t been terrible by any means, just different. More active, busier, and she hasn’t been sleeping great. That means when she IS sleeping, I am taking some mommy time. Blogging just hasn’t been my top priority when there is always a sink full of dishes and multiple loads of laundry  to be washed and folded. We are counting down to Baby T’s arrival. My niece or nephew is due this Saturday so we are anxiously awaiting a “My water broke” call or a “I’m being induced on this date” call. Either way, I can’t wait to be an Aunt!!!  Here is Lala at 38 1/2 weeks! Doesn’t she look AMAZING!?! That being said, we are all getting ready to travel to Albuquerque!! Gigi and Grandaddy leave on Thursday and will stay almost 3 weeks. It will be Gigi’s longest time away from Ella Rae AND her longest time away from home ever since being married!! Baby T sure
