Snow Day 2010

The day after Christmas, it snowed! This was the second time it has snowed here in the Lowcountry this year. The first time this year was on Ella Rae’s first birthday. There was more in February than this past snow in December. It’s hard to believe that we actually had TWO snow days this year.

So Ella Rae’s birthday is now less than a month away. I am not so excited about that! I can’t even believe that I will have a 2 year old soon! Ahhh. I sure hope those ‘terrible’ two’s aren’t so terrible because I don’t think I could handle much more. Ella has been a pistol lately! Her favorite words are ‘No’ and ‘Mommy’ and she always uses them together!! haha. It has been driving me crazy. But then she gives me a sweet smile or a kissy face and I just cave. Oh well, that’s mommy hood I believe.

The weekend is coming up. My hubby is off all weekend, but unfortunately I have to work all weekend :( I’m just glad Ella Rae can be with her Daddy while I am working!

Today, November 17, is Prematurity Awareness Day! This cause is near and dear to my heart because our sweet Ella Rae was born 6 weeks premature. We were definitely on the upper side of the 'premature spectrum' so to speak, as many babies are born waaay earlier. We did, however, spend 14 days in the NICU after Ella's birth. It was a whirlwind to say the least. Did you know that 1 out of 8 babies are born premature? And the amount of premature births has risen 30% since 1981. That means too many babies are coming early and too many parents have to endure the unknown of their child being born prematurely. Today is a day to fight for those babies and families. In honor of Premature Awareness Day, I thought I would share some pictures of Ella Rae's Birth. The very first photo ever taken of Ella Rae. He is only 17, but he's got a wonderful heart and donates a lot of money and time to many different charities and organizations. We are definitely fans! And a sweet picture of my girl, just for fun!! travels, visits and pics

Things have been pretty crazy round these parts lately. Ella Rae has definitely started acting like the old adage “terrible twos”. She certainly hasn’t been terrible by any means, just different. More active, busier, and she hasn’t been sleeping great. That means when she IS sleeping, I am taking some mommy time. Blogging just hasn’t been my top priority when there is always a sink full of dishes and multiple loads of laundry  to be washed and folded. We are counting down to Baby T’s arrival. My niece or nephew is due this Saturday so we are anxiously awaiting a “My water broke” call or a “I’m being induced on this date” call. Either way, I can’t wait to be an Aunt!!!  Here is Lala at 38 1/2 weeks! Doesn’t she look AMAZING!?! That being said, we are all getting ready to travel to Albuquerque!! Gigi and Grandaddy leave on Thursday and will stay almost 3 weeks. It will be Gigi’s longest time away from Ella Rae AND her longest time away from home ever since being married!! Baby T sure
